Easter 2013

We got up early and made our deviled eggs.  This year I made 3 kinds:  standard paprika sprinkled on top, some with sweet pickles in little pieces on top and others with hot sauce.  My favorite part is just the filling!

Then we headed out to Howard and Cindy's for dinner.  Travis and Sami came over from Manhattan for the day.
Here's the table pre-dinner.

Lots going on in the kitchen.
Beautiful tulips from Cindy's sister, Karen.

Travis was in charge of the ham.  At least cutting it...

Grandma Helen cutting the Cindy's famous bread.
Chad had to sample the ham before dinner.

Sami made some incredible asparagus.  Made with soy sauce and balsamic vinegar.

Here's Cindy's father Dick.  He's always so funny!!
 Here I am with Howard.
These guys were ready to eat!

As always, Cindy was a wonderful and generous host.  I'd say Easter 2013 was a success!!

Happy Easter from The Haslers!!

Spring and Easter Decor at Home

I love to decorate the living room for the seasons and holidays.  Here are some photos of my Spring/Easter decor.

Entry table.
I made the fabric scrap wreath last year.

These are tea cups that belonged to my grandmother.  I love that I have three.  One represents my grandmother, one for my mother and one for me.

The H is for my first AND last name!  lol

Recently, my mother gave me a set of "furniture" for my dollhouse.  It also belonged to my grandmother.  I decided to put out the baby carriage for Spring.
My mantle.

This is a painting that my mom did maybe 20 years ago?
Not sure where I got the little bunnies, but I love them!

Up close photo of the painting.

Of course I had to make a bunny bunting!

Found this guy at a used furniture store.  Chad says he looks like a Disney bunny.

Easter Village pieces that I've found over the years.  They are in my antique secretary.
Big Bunny cookie jar that I found at The Salvation Army for $6.

Jack had to get in on the photo action.

Simple door hanging this year.  Found at Dollar Tree.

My new deviled egg tray!!
I made about 25 bunny silhouettes this year to give away.  The others all had tulle pom poms glued to the glass for a tail.  Forgot to put one on mine!
Here's my pinterest board that inspires me!

Happy Easter to Everyone!

Trying to get caught up with the blog...

I've really been into making candy bouquets.  I buy the items at Dollar Tree to keep the cost really low.  This was the Valentine Bouquet!  Red hots in the bottom, Atomic Fire Balls in the 1st layer, cinnamon discs for the next layer and Ring Pops at the top.

Here's my Mardi Gras wreath.  I bought the tinsel, beads, mask and wreath at Dollar Tree.  Total cost:  $6.  And I loved it!

Craft Day at work.  I taught guys how to crochet and knit.

Old Timey Photos while we were in Branson.  So much fun!

I bought a Tasty Tortilla Maker at Dollar Tree.  Amazing!!

Guess who needs root canals.  Yeah...me.  And I keep being told that I have unusually long roots.

Wow.
Mardi Gras Nerd Style.
I dressed up like Sue Sylvester from Glee for a day at work.
Dinosaur hat that I crocheted.
My darling husband added to my Brighton bracelet for Valentine's Day!!

Basketball cake for a work giveaway.  It's meant to be a layer cake, but I made one for everyone to sample and one to give away to a contest winner.
Here's the link that I used from pinterest:
